Applique is an unusual technique that allows more elaborate and complex designs than traditional leaded windows. It is literally the "application" of glass on glass and allows the artist to develop very complex images without foiling or leading.
Applique is only recommended for interior installation. It can be adapted for exterior use but would need to be assessed prior to design and manufacture.
The Hummingbird. This striking 31" x 23" transom window casts its colours into a family dining room.
"Look Aboot Ye"
This piece was exhibited in Alloa at the celebration of glass art, Art'n'Action, in October 2008. This 97cm x 63cm glass panel demonstrates a variety of techniques including Glass applique, kiln fused glass, traditional leaded stained glass and glass painting. "Look Aboot Ye" was inspired by the Artists childhood memories of the Peacocks that, in the past, roamed freely in Alloa's Greenfield Park.
