· Any inclusions e.g. gold or silver leaf, copper pieces (see note 3)
· Hand painting or etching (see note 4)
· The number of layers of glass to be used (see note 5)

Note 1: The price of fusible glass can vary depending on your requirements.
Note 2: This includes the number of pieces of glass per square foot, the intricacy of your design and the number of kiln firings that will be required to manufacture the piece.
A rough guide would be:
· Simple = 5 or less pieces of glass per Sq Ft.
· Medium = between 6 to 14 pieces of glass per Sq Ft.
· Complex = 15 or more pieces of glass per Sq Ft.
Note 3: There are many different materials that can be included within a fused glass piece. Any inclusion such as gold or silver foil or glass frit will be considered in the overall costing of your design.
Note 4: Hand painted and etched pieces should be discussed depending on your individual requirements.
Note 5: Two layers of 3mm fusible glass are normally adequate for applications such as tiles and splashbacks however larger pieces and freestanding artworks may require more. It is important that you let us know what you intend to do with the piece so that we can advise you.

Measuring a square or rectangular window.
With a steel tape (do not use fabric tapes- as they stretch) measure the sight size - this is the area of glass you actually see. Measure the width and height in millimeters.
The frame size is the measurement of the window frame and includes the rebate that the glass panel will fit into.
Measure the size of the frame in millimeters and we will take off the allowance to get the glazing size.
Measure the sight size, the frame size and the rebate size (Height and Width).
If you have an existing double glazed unit you can place the leaded panel in front of this. If this is the case then you only need to take the sight measurements.
