There are many things to be considered when ordering your glass, most of these we can help with and will be happy to do so.

Most people have some idea of the type of work that they have in mind, fused, leaded, etched or a combination of techniques however if not then we can help by discussing the possibilities with you. There are some techniques better suited to some applications than others and we will be happy to discuss these issues with you.

The style of your commissioned work will be dictated by what you have in mind but we are able to offer design advice etc and will provide preliminary sketches, and colour pallete samples to assist you.

The cost of your work will be dependent on many factors such as the techniques used, kiln firing requirements, the type of glass to be used and of course the complexity of the piece. We will discuss this and provide a firm quotation once the design, sizing and delivery options have been settled.
We will provide pricing advice along the way to ensure that we work towards a product that is within the budget you have allocated.

There are standards and laws that must be adhered to when installing glazing and whilst we are happy to point you in the right direction, compliance with these regulations is ultimately the customers responsibility.

To start the process please Contact Us or use our email form

***Please note that we do not provide an installation service for our glass products and customers must ensure that all legal requirements in relation to installation are met***

Please note, The Newfangled Glass Company are not glaziers and we do not install windows in your home. We ask that you ensure the measurements you give us are accurate. We will be happy to give advice on measuring if you have any queries or are unsure of what to do.

Measuring a square or rectangular window.

With a steel tape (do not use fabric tapes- as they stretch) measure the sight size - this is the area of glass you actually see. Measure the width and height in millimeters.

The frame size is the measurement of the window frame and includes the rebate that the glass panel will fit into.

Measure the size of the frame in millimeters and we will take off the allowance to get the glazing size.

Measure the sight size, the frame size and the rebate size (Height and Width).

If you have an existing double glazed unit you can place the leaded panel in front of this. If this is the case then you only need to take the sight measurements.

We have a range of glass tiles, mosaics and accessories that can be made to order. These can be seen on the tiles and mosaics pages.
